OR it could be that NY divorce laws consider either partner’s having relations with anyone else during a separation still as “adultery” and his investigators may be working to reduce BOR’s financial liability for a divorce? Or it could have to do with child custody. Divorces are nasty business, especially when there’s money or kids involved.

If there were a separation with hope of reconciliation she likely wouldn’t be busy dating someone else, and he wouldn’t be busy investigating her ‘boyfriend.’

Doubt it. My ex-brother admitted to going to B&Bs with his girlfriend while my sister was busting her butt to keep a roof over their heads; didn't make a bit of difference in NY court.

If there are kids involved, you'd better believe I'd be pulling favors to get some background info, too. Too many stories in the news today about kids suffering and dying at the hands of the "boyfriend."

Didn't say there was hope for a reconciliation; just said he might still care for her.

Most guys tend to be the "surprised" partner in the relationship when it starts to deteriorate.

New York just recently adopted a new divorce statute. Now inn New York just like the other 49 states a person can file for divorce because they don’t like the way the spouse picks their nose.
