How’s about passing a bill that ends skimming off the top of highway funds?

GUARANTEED: Only Union Labor may be used on these Federal Projects.
How about we just have the welfare recipients do the work, or lose their welfare checks? Sure would save the Taxpayers a lot of money.

2 to 1 ratio of supervisor to worker. I've seen 6 to 1 personally. Very efficient use of tax dollars. Lets dig a really big and then fill it in. That’ll ‘create’ jobs.

I’m sure that would be some quality road work.

How about lowering income taxes and letting individuals and businesses decide what to do with THEIR own money? That is not only just; it actually works to stimulate an economy.

Who didn't see this coming as the "solution"???
WPA, Messiah-style. This is his version of the "NEW DEAL", and even though we are bankrupt, we will hire Union labor to build roads and bridges (that will require rebuilding in less than 10 years, due to poor workmanship, as is the case today in many, many places). Then, these Union jobs will produce Union Dues, to be funneled to the DNC for the 2012 Elections.
What a wonderful plan, right?

More Keynesian nonsense. Spend money we don’t have on overpriced boondoggles that benefit state workers or union members.
The only way government can create jobs is by getting off the backs of and out of the way of the private sector.
But liberals refuse to even consider that...to them, government is The Answer to Everything.

Whenever I see them use tag lines like "PROTECT X AMMOUNT OF JOBS" I interpret that as more kickback to Union Goons.
0bama didnt save General Motors, he saved the Union. GM is going to fall flat on its face again real soon.

They may not name this the "Work Projects Administration, Part II", but that what it will, in effect, be. And of course, the original WPA was heavily wrapped up in Democrat vote-buying and political influence.
That's where the "Act to Prevent Pernicious Political Activities" came from - an effort to rein in the WPA's corrupting influence within the federal government. That Act is still around today, though it has been renamed the "Hatch Act" - far less inflammatory.

Please, someone enlighten me. Why must EVERY public works job REQUIRE that it be done by a union? How many union supervisors does it take to watch someone lean on a shovel?Does it really require a $30/hr union member to turn a stop/slow sign around? Pay 3 people 10 bucks per hour. You’ve tripled the jobs creation.
