Jeez, for a specialty hobby item (let’s face it, you don’t get one of those to go to the grocers) offering a small discount to a group with a distinct need as an incentive only makes sense.
My Dad’s retired Air Force and my brother is active duty Army. Military discounts do create loyalty.
Depending on the discount you offer you might take a small hit on up front margin. But you’ll make it up on volume, accessories, repeat business and referrals.
It’s a big win for both you and your customers.
It’s 10% and it’s a big hit considering we’re a very small company.
We don’t care.
They deserve it and shame on the other companies for not thinking so, too.
I use mine for grocery shopping, BTW.

Possibly the best part is the friends we make.
Old customers from years back still stop in when they’re in the area and write often, especially if they’ve updated their paint job, won a show or something.
We met the best friend we ever knew because of our trikes.
He passed away a few years ago and we miss him every day.
