Texas Governor Rick Perry is polling very well at the national-level. In fact, the longest-serving Texas Governor recently won a Gallup poll of Republican and Republican-leaning independents.
Perry pulled in a larger percentage of the vote than former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) and Rep. Ron Paul (R-Tex.). Perry won the Gallup poll with 29 percent of the vote. Romney took second place with 17 percent of the vote. Paul grabbed third place with 13 percent of the vote and Bachmann took fourth place with 10 percent of the vote.
This is the first Gallup poll to survey Republicans and Republican-leaning independents with Perry as an announced candidate. In July, a Gallup poll found that Perry had 18 percent of the vote as an unannounced candidate. Perry took second place in this poll, trailing Romney by 4 percent.
In the latest Gallup poll, Perry also finished strong among church goers, especially weekly church goers. Among those surveyed who never or seldom attend church, Perry took first place with 24 percent of the vote. However, when Gallup surveyed those who attend church on a monthly basis, Perrys support jumped to 27 percent. Perrys support skyrocketed when Gallup surveyed those who attend church on a weekly basis. In this instance, Perry grabbed 34 percent of the vote. Romney, who took second place under this condition, trailed Perry by 18 percentage points.
The Gallup poll also revealed that Perry has strong support among the elderly. Perry took in 40 percent of the vote when those surveyed were 65 years of age or older. In this instance, Romney pulled in 16 percent of the vote.
Despite his support among monthly and weekly church goers, Perrys religious beliefs have put the GOP candidate in some hot water in the past. On August 6th, Perry held a prayer rally in Houston, Texas. During his prayer rally, Perry called on God to help those who cannot see the light in the midst of all the darkness. As many as 30,000 people attended Perrys prayer rally.
However, not everyone was impressed by Perrys prayer rally. Some were concerned that Perrys prayer rally was a sign that the Texas Governor wont be able to appeal to a broader audience of Republicans who want a candidate who can defeat President Obama.
Regardless of the popularity of Perrys prayer rally, the Texas Governor remains extremely popular among Republicans and Republican-leaning independents who are church goers.
Um, it may not be the ethics violations they use but they will find another weak spot and roll her again.
When I say rolled, I mean compromising her principles behind closed doors for personal gain.
She was not rolled. She resigned with principles intact.
Were conservatives rolled when they failed to prevent Obamacare from being passed? No. Were patriotic, anticommunist Americans rolled when the U.S. left South Vietnam and Cambodia in the 1970’s? No.
Except she’s never been rolled.
Perry is not a RINO. It would be far more accurate to say he hasn’t been a consistent conservative. Nevertheless, he has been strongly conservative in several areas. For Mittens, there is no evidence of conservatism at all. I prefer Bachmann.
Being forced to resign is being rolled.
When I say can they roll her, I mean can they corrupt her.
She resigned uncorrupted.
Being rolled isn’t just about giving in on principles. It’s about not being able to withstand the pressure by your enemies. She QUIT. That is the same thing as being rolled. The DNC won politically.
Someone needs to sit with him and read and discuss the following texts with him.
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. Galatians 1:8-9
2 John 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
Notice the partaker of his evil deeds? Perry has put himself in a very dangerous position. Not only Biblically but as it concerns the future of this country as well.
Including his including how good the Muslims are in the education system in Texas?
No, you’re wrong.
Because the toughest battle is the battle of morals.
The greatest might is not found in the sword or in the pen. This is so often overlooked.
Palin cannot be rolled on principle. This is why the left fears her. They don’t fear a president who can put up a tough legal battle, because the ability to fight legal battles does not rule out being inclined to corruption.
Think about the metaphorical concept of selling your soul to the devil. This is what it means to be rolled.
And no, the DNC did not win politically because their goal was to take Palin’s political viability down to zero. The DNC lost politically.
The bottom line is she can’t beat 0bama because of how she was forced out of office by the DNC. It’s that simple. Poll after poll shows she would be beat by 0bama by double digits. We as a nation can’t take that chance to get the turd in chief out of office.
Perry has governed his state so well that Texas has weathered the 0bama storm of destruction. This next election is not about ideology but about being able to actually pick up the pieces of a broken nation and start back on the road to recovery. The only candidate in the race with the most experience of governing a large state with a large economy is Rick Perry.
Sarah Palin served 2 years in a state with a population of 710,000. It’s economy is near the bottom. That is the reality we will be facing in 2012. The economy is our biggest issue.
>>First, who IS this Aga Khan fellow? The worst that Geller can say is that, in the past (the very distant past, by the way the 11th Century, to be exact), the Ismaili Muslims (the sect led by Aga Khan) gave rise to the Assassins! Yep, and in the 14th Century the Vatican was forcing Jews to convert or flee Spain.<<
An obvious apologist for Muslims. All Muslims, again let me emphasis, ALL MUSLIMS use the Quron as their holy book. The Quron calls for the elimination of the Jews and all who dont convert to Islam. The Quron says to eliminate any law that does not conform to Sharia.
Dont send me to a site that attempts to obfuscate or white wash who and what the Muslims are and what they believe.
Lets look at another of the quotes. If Spencer agrees that the Ismailis are philanthropical and nonviolent, Ill take his word for it. He had better get familiar with the word Taqaiaa (sp). The entirety of the Quran is predicated on Islam overcoming the entire world so that their version of paradise can become reality.
Anyone, again to emphasis, ANYONE, who is naïve enough to believe that any part of Islam can or will coexist with the freedoms we have in the US is not, NOT, someone I want in an influential position in this country.
Ill finish by saying that the very acknowledgement of Islam as a legitimate religion or alternate form of governance is tantamount to not fighting to keep prayer in school back in the 60s. To teach information about it other then to openly warn of its dangers is dangerous at best. Perrys words of praise about the Aga Khan indicates a weakness in his Christian faith and understanding.
Yes she does, but when you can get the inside the beltway (r)s po'ed at you (fed is committing treason by printing all the new money remark), Perry is not far behind.
That’s because you’re taking it out of context. That being said, no, I’m not going to dispute the point - which ought to be obvious - with you, so please don’t expect a reply to the inevitable, snide response you’ll be posting next.
What? Me snide? Never...:oP
What you’ve overlooked is the fact that the public doesn’t know that the DNC was behind her need to resign.
When the facts come out, Palin’s support will only go up.
To get 33% against Obama in one recent biased poll, many of the relevant facts are unknown, and she hasn’t even announced? I would say this is a very good sign for Palin.
It’s still something that is going to count against her if she runs. People know more about Sarah Palin than any other candidate. She still polls losing in double digits against 0bama.
People don’t know many of the essential facts.
Such as the facts about what the DNC did to her in Alaska.
If there's one thing that can be said about Perry's mistakes, is that once the people speak, he backs off and does the right thing. For our system of government, that's the best we can expect. If we're not vigilant on whipping our politicians into line, then even the most pure of heart will just be passing lights on our way to ruin. If we are vigilant, then there is nothing we can't do.Well stated! Our system of government requires that we correct our mistakes.
