Get back to me when Mr. Symbolism gets serious about ending Illegal Immigration.

Mr. Symbolism, as you call him may very well be the last, great hope of the republican, ie. conservative party. Who's your favorite nominee?

Bottom line, anyone but 0bama!

Right on, ProCon. It’s really sad to come here and see all the vitriolic crap spewed on Perry and the other Republican candidates. What these purists need to realize is that any one of them will be a huge improvement over the Communist in Chief. Moreover, each of the Republican candidates deserves our admiration for subjecting themselves and their families to the $900 billion Dem smear machine. I have no problem with anyone pointing out policy differences or touting one fine Republican over another. However, when it gets down to thread hijacking and ad hominine attacks, they’re only feeding the Dem machine.

Funny thing is that many of the purists on FreeRepublic that repeatedly attack Perry or Romney for not lining up 100% with every conservative position agree (as I do) that Reagan was the best President in modern times (some even have his name in their taglines). Yet even he wouldn’t withstand their purity test. For example, how many times have we seen a freeper posting that they will never vote for Perry because of his “mandatory” vaccine vote or that they will never vote for Romney because of his “romneycare” vote. Well would they vote for a Republican candidate that signed the Therapeutic abortion act in 1967, allowing for abortion in California? Sure they would and did when they voted for Reagan. Would they vote for a Republican candidate that raised taxes 11 times as President and voted for the largest tax increase at the time in California history as Governor? Sure they would and did when they voted for Reagan. And of course the purists on this board would never vote for a guy that gave amnesty to over 3 million illegal aliens and tripled the budget deficit during his term as President. Well I’m glad to say that they (and I) did vote twice for a guy, Reagan, that did that and would gladly do it again because he was the best damn President we’ve had in my lifetime. No one can agree with us on everything (heck, I don’t even agree with the wife on all things political) and even the greatest make some mistakes along the way, but that shouldn’t prevent us from reflecting on the excellent qualities and policies presented by each of these Republican candidates that are actively attempting to defeat the Radical in the White House. I haven’t yet made up my mind on which candidate will get my vote in the Florida primary. However, all are light years better than a socialist community organizer.

Sorry, but you are way off base if you think Mr. Symbolism is going to save the Republican party or this country.

Look at the big money behind Perry to get a feel for what he is really about, cheap labor and globalism. Do some research on his biggest contributors, they are corporate guys.

Perry is not a limited-government, individual rights kind of guy no matter what his rhetoric is right now and neither are the big-money guys behind him.

He's just a re-packaged slightly better version of GWB who has a penchant and track record of telling conservatives what they want to hear just before an election.

Take the blinders off, you're being manipulated.

Who's your favorite nominee?

Governor Sarah Palin.

If she does not get in, it will be Cain or Bachmann since they are the only other true-blue conservatives in the race.

Perry doesn't qualify, as his record has shown.
