Palin has a hard-core, loyal base. They will wait until hell freezes over, IMO.

I like and support Palin, but will not wait much longer. She’s indicated that the end of Sept/Oct is fair to her supporters. I’m willing to give her that time.

Meanwhile, I’ll be working to refute some of the misinformation and lies that have been posted to FR about Perry. He and Bachmann have declared and deserve to have balanced information presented about them.

I guess you wouldn't have supported this candidate either.

Good evening. I am here tonight to announce my intention to seek the Republican nomination for President of the United States. - Ronald Reagan (November 13, 1979)

RE: Palin’s rock solid base

Gen. Burkhalter, post 188:

“Sarah is to the GOP what Nancy Pelousy is to the Democrats. She is wildly popular among the Party faithful, but not so among independents, and certainly a demonizing and polarizing figure among the other party.”

I am disappointed in her lingering too long on this announcement as well, but why would she wait so long, if she intended to not run?

I expect most that would move on to favor another candidate would not contribute money to that candidate, I certainly wouldn't. However acting coy this long has costs, some important Republican leadership like yesterday's endorsement of Perry, by Inhofe, those kind are hard to undo, of course there is no guarantee that he would have endorsed her anyway, but waiting too long could hurt.

My tagline is still my intention.
