'Surfing' around at the various weather forums; I note that nearly every store on the East Coast is OUT OF BOTTLED WATER!!!

Don't panic...here's a life-saving tip. Just turn on the tap and fill up whatever jugs/containers you have around the house. Chill and serve. Okay to drink warm if you lose power.

Fill up the bathtub, too.

Just remember that you need to use a little bleach (not much, a few drops a gallon but double check that!) to keep the water from going stale. Not a big deal for adults, but you need to be careful.

Thanks. I opted NOT to buy bottled water even when it was plentiful in the stores. I use a Brita filter and have transferred the filtered water to some gallon bottles I keep on hand for just such an emergency as this. I’m thinking our worst case scenario will be loss of power for a day. Time will tell. The tragedy was my shattering the nice thermos I kept for coffee. Now THAT is serious. Stay safe.
