Hi again Tomkat. During “normal times” I occasionally listen to sideband at around 7,100 KHz give or take. Once or twice I heard activity at 14,135 but not since. I’ll have to try the 3.9 MHz the other poster suggested once I get my random wire antenna on the roof fixed. I think it is too low a frequency for the Degen indoor loop antenna to be effective, although that antenna and tuner is really good at reducing noise.

I have one of these on top of the chimney, about 20' high.
Wondering how it might work as a SW and/or general purpose radio antennae . . .

I read a few of the reviews for that Degen unit .. lotta satisfied owners and the price is pretty good too.
Will prolly order one to replace this Grundig before SHTF season next year .. thanks again for the info !
