NHD, hope you don't mind a *totally* noob question ? I have an Eton (grundig) E100 shortwave receiver. Should that 14.325 MHz USB frequency translate to 14325 KHz on my receiver's dial ? Or is sideband a completely different animal ? Have done a bit of digging on wiki w/o clarification. I've tuned and set 14325 KHz into memory, but so far only static, tho according to the HWN link you posted, it won't be active til tomorrow (Sat) at 0630.

You would set the dial to 14.325 MHz and the mode to upper side band (USB). If you cruise around 75 meters (3.900 MHz give or take) lower side band you might find your state emergency net. 75 meters is better for local/regional coverage whereas 20 meters is more long haul.

Thanks for the reply .. a couple guys yesterday got me squared away.

Turns out I need a receiver that'll p/u sideband, as my current one isn't geared for such.
