TRIPOLI, Libya (AP) -- Euphoric Libyan rebels raced into the capital Tripoli on Sunday and moved close to center with little resistance as Moammar Gadhafi's defenses collapsed and his regime appeared to be crumbling fast.

Associated Press reporters with the rebels said they moved easily from the western outskirts into the regime stronghold in a dramatic turning of the tides in the 6-month-old Libyan civil war.

Damn! Barry killed bin Laden while in his office in D.C. and now he takes out Qadhafi while on vacation in Martha’s Vineyard! He’s a true military genius!

Now the process will begin to determine the new dictator of Libya. Or, will Libya split up and have petty tribal wars forever?

Exactly... the Muslim Brotherhood now step into Libyan power void.

Big trouble for Israel and those who support her.

I wish them well, but I can’t help but wonder how they will love all of the beheadings and Burka wearing that is coming.

God Please help the Christians.

I have a feeling these folks will make Hitler look like a boy scout.

The tools that post on Hot Air are celebrating like this is something great. We know the rebel leadership is ae qaeda ... it's what don't know that scares me.

My guess is that most revolutions end up with a leadership that's far worse than the one it replaced.

I hate to say this, but read Al Jezeerah...they have folks on the ground and have a lot of coverage that isn’t being noticed in the western papers.

Yes, they have a bias, but you can figure that part out. What they don’t do is swallow the propaganda from the government press offices, like too many western news sites.

The tools that post on Hot Air are celebrating like this is something great. We know the rebel leadership is ae qaeda ... it's what don't know that scares me.

You have no idea what the result of this will be, it could indeed be something great. It may even give the Syrian rebels (and perhaps Iranian people) a reminder that their own rotten regimes are terribly vulnerable.

Where are you getting this claim that the rebel leadership IS al-queda? There may be some rebel leaders that are, but not all or even most of them. Assuming that al-queda is now going to take over is just nonsense. Are there terrorists among the rebels? Yes, most likely. Does that mean some Islamic revolution is going to sweep over Libya? No. We do not know what will happen, but there is a good chance this will be a net positive over the long run.

Gaddafi killed a lot of Americans and ran a despotic, awful regime. It is probably good news he's been run out of Libya. Hopefully he is captured and killed.

These revolutions sweeping the Arab world will take time to shake out, but they do prove to a lot of Muslims they have the power to throw out corrupt governments, that they have the power to shape their destiny, and that they do not need al-queda or terrorists like them to make their lives better. These events are exactly what Bush hoped to encourage when we invaded Iraq. The goal is that Muslims will direct their energies and various hatreds towards fixing their own nations and being responsible for them, rather than lashing out America and Israel every time something goes wrong in their lives.

On Al Jazzera:
Gaddafi, Obama 17 min 25 sec ago - Libya
Hamas welcomes the revolution freeing Tripoli and congratulates Libyans on the great victory they have achieved, Sami Abu Zuhri, a spokesman for Hamas, said in a short statement to the press on Monday.

Hamas wishes that this victory is a turning point in the history of the Libyan towards freedom and prosperity, Abu Zuhri added.

Thank you for being the voice of reason.

This is indeed what former President Bush was hoping to see; and let’s hope that the Syrian and Iranian people can draw some good lessons from this.

I wish the people of Libya the best, and hopefully things will shake out across the MidEast in a positive direction, not just for us, but for them as well.
