All good reasons, but ran into some info yesterday about Perry's contributors being set up with nice positions in his administration and that his kids ended up employed with one his supporters. The quid pro quo and "crony capitalism" aspects of this will take him out, imho. Perry is a politician looking for self gain and gratification. Palin is a citizen who happens to be in politics. The distinction is crystal clear.
“_________ is a citizen who happens to be in politics.”
Dear Freepers:
The above is a quotation from someone on this thread with the name “Palin” removed. I have done so because I believe that, while my own personal choice is Sarah, it is the thought expressed in the statement that endears her to me. This sentiment expresses both what [I believe] is needed at this time and what the Founders envisioned so that America might be governed by something strikingly different from what they strove to break free from: an oligarchy of men whose job it was to ensure their own power, their own rule and whose rule was becoming increasingly oppressive to the people. In the wisdom of our Founders, citizen-servants were the desired people to lead, not a ruling class, not an elite, not a strata of folks removed from the people. If this is your belief as well, kindly submit a name you feel should be placed in the blank, type it out and make your case.
