What really gets me is that people fall for it.
I mean, really.
It is the Pluto hoax all over again.
And you guys and gals have to read this stuff with a straight face while moderating! [or at least I’m assuming you have to.]
If you ever need to take a break, I know of this thread where you can kick back and crack pop culture reference jokes....
For those reading along, the Pluto hoax went something like this: An alignment of the outer planets and pluto would reduce gravity here on Earth by a tiny fraction that we supposedly could feel by going outside and jumping at some specific time.
Only in this instance they are stating we’ll feel the alignment by way of earthquakes, and the names of the objects supposedly in alignment are changed.
Does this mean I’ll have to take the truck in and
have the steering checked??
;)
Arguing facts, common sense or anything resembling an honest questioning of reality, is met with nasty comments and mob tactics.
Since the Japan earthquakes haven't continued unabated (surprise, surprise) the next "logical" EOTW scenario (until Dec. 21, 2012) is a passing comet, dark star or alien invasion.
So stay tuned - and look for incoming posts of exactly what I just described . . .
That was true.
