Apart from the message, the video tells us a few things about her organization.

First, it was produced and released by SarahPac, indicating that some very good professional media people are on board. And that Sarah brought them in quietly with no fanfare.

Second,the very quick production time, less than a week from her Iowa appearance to a very polished and highly effective product indicates comprehensive media planning in place along with a long term campaign strategy also in place.

The closing segment of the grizzly is no quickly slapped together footage. As comments on this board and in the LSM bear out, it is a powerful, evocative, and memorable instant icon. This is the sort of thing Ad agencies end up with after running clips past focus groups and hope they’ve come up with a winner and pray that it has instant product identification.

And finally, the grizzly closer stands by itself as the iconic closer. IMO it was conceived and produced well before the Iowa footage was assembled. I can’t recall any single political video segment as powerful since the Reagan “there is a bear in the woods”.

In fact the grizzly surpasses it since it is damn near archetypal, whereas the bear in the woods had a single issue focus. The grizzly evokes so many visceral reactions that I’m willing to bet that the big name ad agencies are all studying it or will be and wondering who the producer is.

Finally, as has been said by her opponents, Sarah never forgets. Let us not forget her major was rooted in the media. She had them trailing her like puppies in the last Iowa appearance and has now revealed that she can beat them at their own game in every way.

Hot damn!

I couldn’t agree with you more. Been reading the comments from all over the place and the one that is most often repeated is it induces chills. That means it hits on a very raw emotional level that is quite hard to achieve. In short, this is an excellent production and the bear is her signature. No doubt about it.

What I think is most savvy is that, contextually, her Iowa stop is juxtaposed against the Iowa Debate/Straw Poll. Sarah being Sarah (lone wolf, American Flag wrist band, walking the crowd, woman of the people, outsider) vs. the rest of the Repubs (suits, lined up on stage, arms raised in unanimity—almost a sign of party politics as usual.) Is there anything conservatives have grown more sick of than a Republican Party that fails to live up to its principles? Can we be sure that any of those on stage (aside from Michelle Bachman, perhaps)will do anything other than the Party Waltz if elected? Look what we got with Bush? More government than we have ever had (pre-Obama)!

Sarah’s appeal to me has always been that she is not THEM. She is US.

Good find.

I see that the “Iowa Passion”. Video is on their youtube channel.

The amount in the expense report is trivial for that sort of work.

In one of SP’s posts she mentioned how Todd had built her the studio space in his airplane hanger. That’s the spot that appears in almost all of her Alaska broadcasts on Fox.

If Passcode Creative set up and bought the video studio equipment, lighting, and lighting, that would be a good sized chunk of the $26k.

Exactly! That set the hook in me at the Rep. Convention after the very good reports of her work in Alaska were first reported here.

Again my observation was about things behind the screen. There's no doubt that the whole of the video is a wonderfully powerful expression of the real Sarah Palin. What you see is the genuine real deal.

The icing as far as bringing the message to the muddled middle is the inclusion of Wolf Blitzer and the other guy saying that she answered all the reporters question. That has to cause at least some of them to think, "Wait a minute, these guys were trashing her for as long as I can remember. What's going on?". Any time you can raise questions of that sort means that you're starting to reach people, even might make them really think.

Yes. And I think by walking among the Iowans alone at the State Fair like that sent a very telling message: she is apart from “politics as usual”, she is not beholden to/owned by any “party” and does not need the party-approved process/apparatus to get her message out, to stir up a loyal following, and, I pray, to win a nomination.

The longer she stays away from the present system of party politics, a system that appears to so many to be “broken”, the greater her appeal, in my opinion.

I grew up in Iowa and it brought tears to my eyes. So much goodness there.

Me too, grew up in Altoona, Iowa and left in 1977. Haven't been back since, but I may just have to be in Indianola on Sept. 3rd.

And yes, the video sent a few chills down my spine, more from 'longing for home' than anything else, but yes, I'm "excited" to see Sarah run.

Can you just imagine the daily heart attacks in the lamestream media with her and Rick Perry both running? Just the thought of the liberal lamestream media clutching their chests daily puts a huge smile on my face.

Just so. And your post and the responses of the crowds in Iowa and in the 2008 campaign bring to mind the closing of the “Gettysburgh Address” which us older folk memorized in school.

“....that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom — and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”
