I am a civil engineer, and I have done renovation work like this. This being August...the beginning of the school year...an architect would be hard pressed to program and design a building, and get the plans approved by June...if he started TODAY. Why is June important? Its best to do demo when school is out. So, none of this would happen in 2012. At best, it will occur in June 2013...what a coinquidink....right in front of the election. He is hoping to reap the short term job gain, before the long term debt hangover from it sinks in.
So what do you think about this passage in the article:
“Supporters estimate that each $1 billion in school construction work would generate up to 10,000 jobs. A $50-billion program, for example, would underwrite half a million jobs by that calculation.”
