I'm guessing the kids are probably in the Free/Reduced lunch program at their school(s).

They're attending Catholic school.

That makes their financial arrangement with the school (whatever it may be) NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS.

Private/Catholic school students are still eligible for state-funded Free/Reduced Lunch programs if their school participates.

Now it looks like the kids bring their lunches to school, so that they are likely not enrolled in the program.
