Do our carriers have reliable counter measures against missiles like this, or are they basically sitting ducks?

They could buy some SS-N-22 Sunburn missiles from the Ruskies which flies at a top speed of Mach 3.

Or they could purchase the new BrahMos missile from India which also flies up to Mach 3.

The Indians are now working on a hypersonic BrahMos that will fly up to Mach 6 and will be ready for deployment by 2016.

I notice there seems to be a lot of confusion here. This is about the SOUTH Koreans building a supersonic weapon... You know, our ALLIES!

North bad... South good...

As to the US’s capabilities against these types of weapons. Limited capability exists with more in the pipe.
