Tell me, o'mighty one, which FReeper has the power to unilaterally decide to nuke Iran? You ask a rhetorical question which cannot be answered by anyone on FR, and then become angry when your question isn't answered. Unbelievable. Do a little research on Ahmadinejad and mahdism. The man’s a religious kook who thinks he communes with God and is on a mission to hasten the end times. He’s stated that the acquisition of nuclear weapons is an essential element of achieving this goal. An Iran with nuclear weapons is simply not comparable to the USSR with similar weapons.

They may not have an Air Force but they have one of the most agressive missile development programs in the world. They have launched two satellites into orbit meaning they have achieved an intercontinental missile capability. Add a little more payload and a nuclear warhead and you will have that capability.
Agreed. See post # 127. Iran does have a rather large Air Force, despite what some may think.

Whether a nutcase with a nuke can actually cause the ‘end times’ is less important than whether he believes he can.

He’s not trying to ‘destroy the planet’, he’s only trying to destroy the ‘Great Satin’ and bring forth the Mahdi who will destroy all who are not true believers.
What if just one Pauler realized that the rest of us do not have “handlers” any more than he does and what an inane, insulting and down right counter productive it is to tell fellow FReepers of all the groups in the US to ignore our “handlers.”
No, if just one Pauler ever admitted that any other group thinks at least as well as he did when he posted that we should ignore our “handlers,” the Universe would come unbalanced and we’d all be doomed.

Same as the constitutionalist Ron Paul would do- protect us without breaking his oath to uphold the constitution.

Since you have no argument against the facts of history your only retreat is to call names and advance false statements. Ron Paul would defend this country and would have the means to do it if we did not have 900 active basis around the country. Like Jefferson he is a non-interventionist not an isolationist, and understands the first task of the federal government is to defend the States. Neither are pacifists. You fail to be able to make that distinction. As for me, the father of special ops soldier in Afghanistan- he says we are not being allowed to fight for fear of hurting Muslims. So don’t preach to me about “letting” terrorists kill us. It is both parties that have sent these men to an undeclared war and tied their hands. Even so they have won the war and now sit as cannon fodder for the politicians to beat their chests over. Wake up and be free and strong. My doctrine is to 1. bring them all home and 2 put them on our southern border to close it off. 3. Rapidly build a missile defense system for our country. 4. Tell every Muslim nation that they are free to kill their own people but if they hurt one of ours at home or abroad we will immediately make glass out of their holy sites and capitol. Then keep your word. Number 4 should be done first.
