Not true. Obama broke more promises than he kept.
American conservatism is founded on moral principles. Honesty and reliability are stuck to American conservatism as much as breaking promises is to Great Society liberalism.
As bad a choice as Mitt Romney would have been, I think Perry will be even worse. You can undo a fuster cluck like RomneyCare easier than you will ever be able to undo amnesty for tens of millions of socialist voting illegal aliens and their extended families.
But at least the Chamber of Commerce will be happy about having an unlimited supply of cheap labor.
Gov Palin got zero, Perry got over 700 as a write-in. In fact he was the only write-in to get any votes, and he beat more than a few that were listed on the ballot.
Wonderful. Another Texas Governor who won’t close the border.
The only difference is Perry talks about Jesus a bit more.
touchet :D
Who would you rather have as President - Rick Perry who would likely approve every bill coming out of a relatively Conservative Congress, and appoint fairly Conservative Supreme Court justices? Or Barack Obama, who would veto every piece of legislation that came out of Congress, and appoint SCOTUS justices in the mold of Elena Kagan and the Wise Latina?
Answer the question.
And so far, in Baraq-like fashion, with whom you seem to share some affinity, you have FAILED to put forth an alternative. All I hear is criticism, but no proposals of your own.
Speak.
That is the one I was looking for..Thanks..I went through all my stash and all the pictures red X on them..
“Wonderful. Another Texas Governor who wont close the border.

Elmer Gantry on steroids.
I’m a Texan, and not a Perry fan, however I have to look at reality, we need someone who can go up against the regime and I do think Perry is the only one in the race right now that can do it. He is the anti-Obama - he is a real American bootstraps narrative to Obama’s euro-style-metro-sexual-arugula-eating-elitist narrative. Yes, Perry has done some things to make me question him, but unless We can reincarnate Ronald Reagan, I have to go with who we have now. I just hope that Perry doesn’t go down the same path as Bush. I really supported him in 2000 and 2004 but very disappointed in the end.
So many anti-Perry people here that it is disconcerting. Was he soft on some issues like practically everyone else in the GOP - Yes. Has he made some mistakes - of course. The bottom line - the man served his country and he has served Texas well. His state came out pretty darn good when you consider the mess most of the others are in. I have no doubt that he loves America and after seeing what obama has done to the country I believe he will lead from the right. Good God, to risk 4 more years of Obama because the best candidate we have isn’t perfect is suicide. I consider ourselves lucky he jumped in. We aren’t winning the White House with the others.
Since the creation of Pres/VP "tickets" early on, there have have been 54 presidential elections. Of the 54 losing VP candidates, only ONE has ever gone on to win the presidency: Franklin Roosevelt, losing VP candidate in 1920, winning Pres. candidate in 1932. One out of 54. Now perhaps Palin could repeat FDR's unique feat, but the history on this is not promising.
“I consider ourselves lucky he jumped in”
Careful....you’ll risk sounding like some of the more zealous Palinistas.
“We arent winning the White House with the others.”
NONE of them? Or just none of them that most conservatives (like us) really want to vote for? I believe that Romney (puke) would beat Obama. I believe that Bachmann, with the right coaching and funding would lay waste to “The Won.”
If Palin gets in and IF she wins the nomination (a silly notion, I know, how dare I suggest such a loss....I must really hate her, we should just coronate the saint right now) she would be formidable what with her millions of supporters ready to sacrifice their first born just to have her gaze fall upon them.
Yeah, she’d beat him too....previous paragraph written just to tweek those zealots that are constantly on the lookout for any possible offense against their liege.
The point is when you drop below Timmy, who cares.

Well, if the robotic repetition of prepared talking points qualifies as "straight talk," okey-dokey.
For example, here he is mouthing the pro-abort, pro-homosexual Rudy Giuliani's lying talking points in the last presidential election.
I find it repulsive, personally.
She was on the losing ticket last time. . . .

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Good research. Although if she ran (and I don’t think she will or should), I think the circumstances are extreme enough (as in 1932), and her presence large enough, that she could overcome any stigma associated with this aspect.
I still deeply question whether she could win. We are all better off if she remains in her current role of observer, advisor, king- or queen-maker, and overall absorber of the Wrath of the Left.
“The point is when you drop below Timmy, who cares.”
Well, Palin dropped below Timmy, Perry, Romney, Huntsman, and everyone else, if you want to look at it like that.
Yes, that is what I said. We have the top four let’s go.
Timmy is out, Santorum is flat broke with no money support, and Paul is a flaming nut-ball. You think Bachman can find enough $$$$ supporters to win? I doubt it.
