I’m from Houston, and have witnessed some of those murders in bars and nightclubs, it used to be a very wild town.

And still is in certain quarters although the murder numbers are down significantly from those other high numbers of years gone by. I was born and raised in that town and have some fond memories of that town. I no longer recognize it nor no longer call it home. Got out about 10 years ago and dread having to drive into that growing cess pool to go see my docs at the Houston VA hospital on occasion.

After growing up in Houston before people mellowed, it was weird to live in San Diego and see people use a chalk board to keep track of who’s turn it was to challenge at the pool table, rather than killing each other for it, or at least fist fighting for the next spot. People didn’t jump you in the bathrooms in San Diego, people didn’t wait to shoot you as you were leaving the bar. I only had to take a knife away from one guy here, and I have never even seen a gun pulled in a bar here in San Diego, much less shootings and killings.
