Your statistics and opinions are not consistent at all, Bob. Here’s just a few problems:

The Governor added the voter ID bill as an “emergency measure,” meaning it skipped ahead of the rest of the bills, along with the Ultrasound bill. (Texas law prevents most votes for weeks, but emergency bills are fast tracked.)

If the veto-proof majority makes the signing of the voter ID meaningless, why even mention the “DREAM ACT” that passed with near-unanimous votes in 2001 and 2005? http://wingright.org/2011/08/08/why-i-support-the-texas-dream-act/

cbs is not a good site for medical information.

No deaths due to Gardasil, according to the CDC and FDA. The number of deaths in the group that has received the vaccine is lower than that expected for that age and none of the deaths have been connected to the vaccine other than by the fact that the girl received the vaccine at some time.

Heck, I didn’t even know we had our own Dream Act until recently. I mention it now, not because of how it passed back then, when we were all compassionate, but because there has been a national debate on the topic and its now more than clear that it is simply a MAGNET for Illegals, and the best thing to do would be to scuttle it here in Texas. But no talk of that, not even a whisper.

Using that warped logic, Republicans and conservatives in congress shouldn't have opposed Obamacare because it had enough votes to pass regardless.

Perry supported in state tuition for illegals in 2001 because he believed they should get it, not because it was a veto proof bill. And he supports it still.
