Or even longer. The election is 14 months off, she could wait until it was 6 months off, and have time to make her point. Why submit to the "establishment timecycle"?

Because 6 months before the election, in May, the primaries are all but over. The delegates to the party conventions will have been chosen. By then one candidate will have a clear lead if not majority of delegate votes adequate to win the nomination. Running as an Independent has yet to work for anyone.

Right now most of the big names and big money are waiting for the final announcements. The wait is going to end very soon. There is, from a practical standpoint, little wait time left.
