As America's first black president, Barack Obama electrified an entire nation. But now that the nation is in crisis, he seems unable to connect with the people. He wanted to change America and restore its reputation in the world. But now his opponents are dictating the country's political course.

They say he was too well-behaved and compromising and eager to please, and hold out the hope that he'll make a comeback, but I can't find the part where they blame his failures on anyone else.

It's a matter of inference. 'Ubama is too nice a man, too willing to see both sides, too willing to listen and compromise... America doesn't deserve such a great man as its president. It is America's fault that Ubama looks like a miserable failure.

In this country there is no longer any hope of reconciliation and unity, which was once the biggest and most hopeful promise of his candidacy. Obama hasn't healed the planet either -- an admittedly ambitious goal.

D'uh!

In Baird's experience, Obama was always courageous, demanding and even audacious. He wasn't sure how seriously Obama would take his teaching job, because the promising lawyer also wanted to go into politics. It was an experiment: a black professor who taught constitutional law, which included the history of the elimination of racial barriers, at a university where more than 90 percent of the students are white. Obama was a popular teacher, Baird recalls. "The students loved him," he says. "There were never any complaints."

This guy is delusional. How many other Leftists are?

The desire to distance himself from the image of the angry black man also prompted him to part ways with his pastor, Jeremiah Wright.

A lie or a delusion. Obama had to be dragged, kicking and screaming, from Wright's church of horrors.

Compromise is the essence of democracy, but Obama's willingness to compromise has now become a problem.

Verdict's in. Hujar is nuts.

Could the growing divide within the country, the fiery rage of some its citizens, in fact strengthen Obama's chances of being reelected next year?

Utterly clueless in Europe.

I found this a href=”http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/30/us/politics/30law.html";>2008 article</a> about his teaching experience interesting. Supposedly, after some experience as a “senior lecturer” and after losing in the 2000 Congressional election to Black Panther Bobby Rush, he was offered a tenured position (including a job for Michelle) at the University of Chicago Law School — without having published a single article. He must have figured that if affirmative action could get him an undeserved, tenured position at one of the best law schools in the country, then he might as well up the ante, and go for the brass ring.

Thanks AZLiberty for the topic and neverdem for the ping.

Dictating, are we? Gosh, it's almost as if the writer of this shrill swill is regurgitating Zero's talking points, and shilling on behalf of the Demwits. That *would* be a first.
