The rule of thirds probably applies here, but whether it is a third of the population as a whole who are getting involved, or a third of non-liberals is open to discussion.
I agree with this statement, but would change it to liberalism in general. It is a pox.
Liberalism presupposes that evil does not exist, and that all negative things in society, crime, drug abuse, sexual abuse, murder, etc. are all due to underlying "root causes", and if those can be fixed, Utopia can be achieved.
Conservatives understand that evil simply exists, and that we are responsible for our actions.

There’s just something about an email from a group like the Tea Party that rubs me the wrong way when it starts, in large type, “A MESSAGE FROM YOUR PRESIDENT.”
