You’re exactly right. These idiots are devoid of any political motive. Bunch of angry, bored youths who want a pair of free trainers and to set things on fire for a laugh. I got a message from an old flatmate who is now in the Clapham area. She had chase away some looters and said they were no more than 14 or 15.

I saw that you’re in Birmingham, so just another wish to stay safe.

Quite a distance between these riots, primarily in the north and east of the city, and the touristy parts in central london. Although there was a disturbance in Oxford Circus which isn’t too far away, perhaps 3 or 4 miles

So sorry, I meant to also address your comment that rioters weren’t going to into Muslims neighborhoods. I apologize for not have the clip, but rioters were looking to hit Green Street and they were chased off by Pakistani butchers wielding knives. I believe somewhere else the Turks used bats to chase looters away.

Anything like that happens in our communities we all should be considering swinging a bat as well....or carrying knifes to fend them off. The police will be limited in what they can do...but the crooks don’t know what the man on the street might do.

Pretty nasty happenings....seems they’re breaking up any store all the way. One looter was asked why they were looting...they said: “ We’re getting our taxes back”.

After four days and spreading to other areas I’d say this pretty well fits the picture there.

Looks like the muslims were better armed. Just got back from entertaining two sets of guests and found the following video on youtube mentioned in a BBC twitter post. Perhaps time for the water cannons, horses and armored cars.

Last report was one hour ago. British Prime Minister David Cameron is presiding over the meeting. Report is out of Russia, thus not linking. Other bits and pieces found, nothing concrete on direction or leaks out of the meeting. Will continue looking as time permits.
