There is a new element, cropping up recently.

I have read that in recent riots, cell-phone pix of looters are going viral and people are being identified, named and shamed—outside of the system—and are suffering probably life-long consequences.

Damn right he was right. Great Britain has been just as stupid and foolish with their immigration policy as the U.S. And in a strange sense they are worse because they had the U.S. as an example of what NOT to do. Also Great Britain had or still has a much larger and more generous public sector. Those who moved to Great Britain from the 3rd World immediately became a drain on this public sector. It was at this time (1960's) when those in power in Great Britain should have realized that this whole multicultural thing wasn't gonna work.
