Either that, or Buffett is a flat-out liar.
Look, suppose the government inflates its way out of debt. A Buffett quote from the article:
"The U.S., to my knowledge owes no money in currency other than the U.S. dollar, which it can print at will."
Suppose this printing causes an inflation of, say, 20%. That would give the EXACT SAME result to bondholders as a government default of 20% of its payments.
If Buffett doesn't know that, he's an idiot. if he does, he's a liar.
