“bitterly fought spending increases”

Yeah, but he was a Democrat at the time. Forget what he did...he was a Democrat and supported algore in ‘88.

Nothing else matters.

One of the very few Democrats I ever admired was Ralph Hall, of Rockwall TX. As a Democrat, he had the most conservative voting record on all issues in the House of Repesentatives. Eventually he switched to Republican because he could no longer serve under the Left Wingers of DC. He still serves, and recently voted against the Debt Ceiling bill.

Anyone remember Zell Miller?

Good ol’ Zell...

Reagan??

Now there’s a name...

That was the Democratic Party primary that Michael Dukakus went on to win.

Gore his wife Tipper led the charge on putting warning labels on records back in the 1980s. In fact, Gore had an 84% pro-life record back in the 1980s: http://www.wordiq.com/definition/Al_Gore According to ontheissues.org -- Gore had an 84% anti-abortion voting record and voted pro-life 27 times. Evolving Gore

I was a Dem in '88 also. I voted for pro abortion, pro criminal Willie Horton Micheal Dukakis.

In every single Perry bashing thread that I see about Perry, the trolls and Ron Paul-bots use this as a negative.

They leave out the fact that he was never a liberal. Gore wasn't a "liberal" in '88, either.

I liked Zell. He wanted to duel Chris Mathews.I like anyone who would want to kick his fat butt on live TV.

Texas also had a number of good Democrats, however, I must add that they were Texans first.

Bob Bullock. Travis County prosecutor and crapweasel Ronnie Earle even tried a fishing expedition against him, so this is a credit to Bullock. Bullock shot down a bill banning term limits in city governments, even though he personally was opposed to term limits. Why? The local voters passed it as part of their local governance.

John Sharp, attorney general.

But those are in the past, even if the recent past. The Democratic Party has been completely taken over by moonbattery, even in Texas.

Zell Miller was the only time I ever voted for a Democrat. He was as conservative as any Republican and the best Governor we ever had in GA. Great guy!!
