If Donald Trump Really Wanted Obama Defeated in 2012...... (Vanity)
August 6, 2011 | no dems

Donald Trump told Greta VanSusteren this past week that "...if the Republicans nominate the wrong person, I'm running". Someone needs to get the word to "The Donald" that if he really wanted Obama defeated in 2012, he could make it happen. HOW? By challenging Obama as a Democrat. Run against Obama in every Democratic Primary. This would accomplish the following:
#1. Obama would have to spend money he would normally spend in the General Election.
#2. Millions of Pubbies and Indys would cross over into Dem Primaries to vote for Trump, hoping Obama would not even make it to November 2012.
#3. It would weaken Obama politically and intellectually before the American people. Trump could send him into the General Election maimed and crippled.

So, if Trump really wants Obama out of the White House, he could make it happen.

He likes Michele and loves Sarah. If either of them get the nomination, Trump won't run. He was very non-committal on Romney however.

Or it could send Trump into the General Election.

By challenging Obama as a Democrat.

This is the best vanity idea I've ever read. (seriously)

“Or it could send Trump into the General Election.”

Heh. Trump versus Romney. That would be fun, in a “I’m gonna regret this in the morning” kind of way.

Had he not already announced he was a Republican, it could have worked.

He'd have zero credibility trying to run as a Democrat now. I do like the idea though.

Trump= Perot. Same pattern, starts to run, pulls out, gets back in under “certain conditions”. Perot was a Democrat running under conservative issues, much like long-time Democrat Trump.

If Trump gets in the race and pulls 5% of the independent or conservative vote, Obama wins.

Unless Sanders runs too, then Sanders wins.

Thanks Darkwolf. Now, if someone could just get that message to Trump. He’s not a personal friend of yours by any chance is he?

No, I have a feeling he’d have me dragged out of his hotels and hosed down or something. :P

The reason it’s a good idea is because it would instantly make this a Trump vs. Obama fight—he wouldn’t have to get through a primary, it’d be on as soon as he declared.

I suspect he doesn’t have the cojones for it, though. But it’s a great idea.

The Donald would be the first VP to tell the marxist to shove it.

The President would be busy showing our creditors we are coming back and actually is going to do something about it.

Sorry to be a curmudgeon, however I still expect Obama pal Trump to run as an indy (for a presidential election that he has no intention to win), to the right the GOP candidate, and do the full Perot (siphoning votes from the right, and giving Mister Obama a win).

Everything Trump has done or said suggests that this will happen. (And any criticism from Trump toward buddy Obama is, I suspect, all part of the stunt.)

Trump has unfortunately gained quite a few political admirers from fine conservative folks who do not look deeply into his past, and frankly are not suspicious enough of this huge wooden horse that is being wheeled into their castle.

.
