Time for Obama to be feared by the Tea Party
Washington Post ^ | August 4, 2011 | Jonathan Capehart

Posted on 08/04/2011 6:22:51 AM PDT by Second Amendment First

Progressives and other peeved supporters of President Obama who aren’t happy with the all-cuts-no-revenue deal to raise the debt ceiling need to see it as the beginning of a very long (and necessary) process to get the nation’s fiscal house in order. But it also means that the president will have to be more aggressive in his use of presidential power. In short, I want him to use everything the bully pulpit has to offer to get what he wants, including shutting down the government if he must. After what we just went through to avert economic catastrophe, padlocking Washington ain’t no big thing.

Ruth Marcus runs down all the opportunities Obama will have to take a stand.

The coming crisis points are manifold. The current spending deal — the one reached on the brink of government shutdown — expires in September. Extended unemployment benefits run out at the end of the year. The temporary cut in the payroll tax expires.

I like the way Marcus described the harrowing drama of the last few weeks. She decried it as part of the new normal here in Washington: “endless rounds of legislative carjacking” where “]o]ne side wanted the car, had a gun and wasn’t afraid — certainly not afraid enough — to use it. The other had a child in the back seat.”

Maybe the next president can “use everything the bully pulpit has to offer” to shut down the WaPo and deport all of its employees.

Oh, don’t let them fool you. They knew we were there and that is why they ignored us. But they knew we were there.

All of this demonizing business is meant to intimidate and cower us in fear of that flop earred fool in the WH.

Feared by the TEA Party? how about afraid of the TEA Party....that’s what we need. We the People are the TEA Party, and he shows nothing but disdain for us...time for that to change. He should live in mortal fear of us for his political future. Vote him OUT in 2012. Give him the Jimmy Carter treatment.

Maybe the day will come where people tell their jobs that we have a job we have to do. We will take our chances and “just do it”.

Nothing means much anymore if your freedom and your means to live are under attack.

Johnathan Capehart...typical Oreo black liberal, trying desperately get real with his lefty bros and support another brother to precipise of insanity and at the same time walk amongst his white lockjaw accented NYT types. A living , breathing Wayans Brothers movie. This guy is walking stereotype,... gay, dumb, black but ashamed to be black and a card carrying member of the profuse mouth diarrhea MSNBC guest list. His bio I saw on-line. Control the in-mouth vomit.

Jonathan Capehart. Dapper, dashing, friendly but with an agreeable air of authority, he is perhaps one of the most important young men, as well as political characters in the city, and possibly the country today. Raised in New Jersey, Jonathan Capehart (pictured with Ashley Schiff) graduated from the prestigiously brainy Carlton College in Minnesota where he majored in Political Science and was taught by Paul Wellstone (who later went on to become U.S. Senator from Minnesota until his untimely death in a plane crash just before the election in 2000).

What is it with gays, does making semen a food group kill brain cells. You'd think the gays would embrace the Tea Party and the "Get the F out of my life" core principle. I am sure there were plenty of leftist fudgies who supported Hitler up to the point he had them shot in the back of the head and used for firewood. As far as "Brainy Carlton College". I looked up average SAT scores of their incoming Freshman and my alma mater U of Florida is higher as are almost all of the other Big-10 schools. If brainy means liberals brain-dead parents wasting 30k a year on a school stuck in 1968 well then they are outright geniuses.

I reckon that patriot has been IDed and cataloged for “future use”.

Great sign....of the times.

“Time for Obama to be feared by the Tea Party..”

####

No, I have much greater fear of the tens of millions of my fellow Americans who would elect this America-hating, radical RaceMarxist as Commander in Chief.

It is indicative of a societal malady much more serious than a single Kenyan POS.

Nods. Thank you for the calmer, more reasoned reply, sheepish look.

I agree about the continuing growth and strength of the Tea Party, and I certainly am not stepping back, but it is just so frustrating to know that so many of our own worst enemies are within our own darn party, meaning the Republicans. It brings to mind a statement from someone in our own little ol’ TP, who in the aftermath of the 2010 tidal wave, sagely stated that the Establishment GOP needed to be our next target.... very prescient fella he : |

In closing, I will redact my statement that the Tea Party lost, but I do still feel that America lost, as does liberty lose with every day that our “betters” remain in power.

Thanks again for the reply.
Take care and may God bless.

Oh, no. The only shutdown averted then was the August 2nd one. If the republicans failed to get an agreement in this deal to not cause a shutdown by vetoing the upcoming fiscal year budget and appropriations bill, then we probably do have a shutdown coming. But wait, it would have to be a bill that passes the democrat senate before it would be presented for signature. Wouldn’t vetoing a bill just passed by your own senate be awkward?

“Mr. Soze was a ruse pulled off by Kevin Spacey’s character, Roger “Verbal” Kint - and didn’t actually exist.”

True, but put another way, Kint completely pulled the wool over the eyes of investigators by pretending he was someone he was not (an innocent caught up in a mythical villain’s web, not an actual villain who willfully blew up a ship).

In that regard, Obama has been Keyser Soze/Roger Kint from day 1, claiming he’s just a centrist when in fact he was the most left-leaning member of the Senate and continues to promote economy-wrecking policies that reflect the warped mindset of progressives (profits are evil, redistribution is good, public opinion can be ignored because experts know best etc.). In 2008, he did a terrific job of duping the American electorate. It is only in the aftermath of seeing all the damage he’s caused that people are waking up to realize he pulled the wool over their eyes, but it’s too late to avert the literally trillions of dollars he has cost taxpayers. However, unlike Keyser Soze/Roger Kint, who got off scot-free, Obama’s deception finally will catch up with him come November 2012.

“It is indicative of a societal malady much more serious than a single Kenyan POS.”

Yep....and committed fasting and prayer would be a REALLY good step toward healing that malady.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)
