Exactly. GE, the company that is manufacturing the volt charging stations.

GM said the production run for 2011 was set at 4,488 for the hybrid Chevrolet Volt and they've all been sold.

Now THIS is funny.

About a year or so ago, I was talking to an engineer who worked for the company that produces the powerpacks for the Volt. FWIW - the powerpack is the most expensive part of the car.

He was worried about being laid off. GM had initially contracted for 50,000 (maybe 60? I don't remember) of the powerpacks BUT they had only ordered 10,000, with no more orders in the pipeline.

Now, this article says they sold a little over 4K, and "that was their planned production" so "this is great news!". That's a pretty bold lie.

For comparison sake, 8,486 Camaros were sold in June alone.

That said, I’m not impressed with the Volt sales numbers.

How to have a sellout:

Find out how many actually sold and set that as your target.
