Sorry, but I’ve reached the point where it just doesn’t matter anymore, this country is screwed, and there’s nothing that’s going to change that, it doesn’t matter who wins in 2012. It’s going to take this country hitting rock bottom to get people to wake up.
Umm.... post# 1 is blank.
No words.
Nothing.
How is that a link?
Not true.
FOXNEWS reported 175 Republicans voted for that turkey.Their Traitors.
you can’t get 100% of what you want when you only control 33% of the government. We got the best deal we could get with the position we had. There’s an old saying, it isn’t a square deal unless everybody walks away feeling equally screwed. I don’t think anybody likes this bill so.....Then there’s the PR aspect of all of this. We can not afford to be perceived as being responsible for crashing the DJIA. That will bite us in the butt come 2012. The DJIA should rebound after this. 401Ks and IRAs will start looking better to the voters that contribute to them and we will be in a better position to control 66%-100% of the government come nov. 2012 at which point this bill will set us up to really cut government spending the way it needs to be cut. It’s time for the next battle. this one is settled for now.
That’s how the CBO scored this bill .
We got the best deal we could get with the position we had.
*****************************
True. Our position being defined by Vichy Republicans and all.
I know it is tough and I know we have both parties to do battle with and defeat... and I know it is nerve wracking... but hang tough with those of us that refuse to quit. As bad as things are and they are plenty bad... our forefathers had it much worse. At least we are not facing a certain defeat by marching across a frozen river... to attack a superior force with superior arms... and our guys won the battle decisively... but they didn’t know that when they crossed that river. America is worth every ounce of our strength. You are NOT alone.
It’s all good so long as we can’t be blamed for “this country hitting rock bottom”. If that happens, we’ll right back where we were after the 2008 election.
I honestly don’t think most of them read the bill.
Yep, the country is going to hell in a handbasket, but hey, at least it’s not our fault.
Thats how the CBO scored this bill .
Which just means the cost savings are overblown. The fight over the tax cuts will come. We routed the dems today, now we just need to keep up the fight.
“you cant get 100% of what you want when you only control 33% of the government. We got the best deal we could get with the position we had.”
I used to think that but no longer buy it.
Do you think the democrats would have caved in if they were in the same boat? (with repub president?) I think not. we need to stop worrying about what everyone else thinks and take a stand on something. Once again the republicans let the democrats and the media dictate the argument and the outcome.
The media is already announcing this as a major win for the whitehouse. What exactly have we gained?
well, it is what it is. I don’t think anyone really understands this bill entirely right now. I would have preferred to see spending cut back to pre-2008 levels but we just aren’t in a position to get that yet. We need to walk away with what we have and manage the PR aspect of this so we can take the senate (and possibly the WH)in 2012. That’s the next battle.
that’s exactly right. I’m glad you get it.
Mking a case for Romanian term limits, aren’t they?
life goes on. focus on the next battle, not the last one.
