I disagree. The Dems won big big big in 2008. Obama did his damage until the GOP took the House and stopped him. Rather, Obama let Reid and Pelosi loose. It's been downhill for them since.
This was a big loss for Obama personally. He'd hope to make the GOP complicit in the economic woes and split them from their base with new taxes. Fail.
This new deal will bring us higher taxes. The debt commission will say raise taxes and this bill says if Congress says no there will be real cuts in defense/medicare that the MSM will use to bludgeon the GOP.
