Because it is a religion and has nothing to do with science, accurate or otherwise. It does not matter how many scientific studies come out contradicting the Church of Global Warming -- they will not be believed. It is a pagan religion and people will still continue to cling to it.

Al Gore was a (failed) divinity student. IMHO, he deserves to be awarded a Doctor of Divinity degree. Not just an honourary degree — a full, earned degree in divinity. Very few people have succeeded in founding an entirely new religion. None have been able to attract as many true-believers.
