To: little jeremiah
He was one of the best of us.
He had humor and insight that few men have.
His absence is keenly felt.

Actually we just might now!
Battle of the peanut butters.
Chunky versus regular, who will win?!
Because that’s just the type of odd stuff that happens here.

“How are you different from the rest of us?”
I’m keenly aware that I cannot play bagpipes to save my life, and am terrible at coding HTML, one of those I need to do our thread changes.
The other would come in handy for thinking and mulling things over.

Just talk to your dad when he’s had a few beers.
You’re like 24 hours from leaving that post, aren’t you? Yippee! Don’t fall in the Pacific at the last minute!

You do the Undead Thread thread switches? Please keep me on your ping (or un-ping) list, if you have one. (Or if not, not.)
Usually I jump in at Tax-chick's instigation, but otherwise I have been known to just wander in and start listening: a hair-raising experience at times, but then that's me, thrill-seeker.... =:oI

Atalanta?
It means mighty huntress. But you are going to run into people who think she is from Georgia.

I’ve been trying to rebuild The List, slow going as I don’t know who was on the original ping list.
You are added!

No insult taken my friend.
Looking over our thread prospects for September, it’s looking a little grim on our thread change.

Atlanta could outrun anyone in her time, and the way she chose her husband was that he would have to beat her in a foot race.
[Greek mythology!]
Well, Hippomenes beat her in a foot race using trickery and they were married.
One fine day in the local temple Hippomenes was filled with lust for his wife [married life should be so lucky] so he tore her clothes off in the temple.
They were placed under a curse and turned into lions for this act.
So kids, don’t defile temples to old gods!

And to think the joke has its roots in Greek Myth, eh?
Bet anyone my age or younger wouldn’t know that.
