Like you I would prefer to see a very articulate, intelligent, right-wing conservative going against Obama with no third party so that it will be a one on one race.
However, I refuse to use the liberal's tactic of sueing or demanding somebody out of a race simply because we do not feel we have a strong enough candidate to win.
The American way of winning is to be prepared for a worse-case scenario by nominating the best candidate that can withstand not just one 3rd party candidate but two or three and still come out on top. The America I know LOVES competition because it helps us improve, get better until we are eventually The Best in the world.
Only a liberal democrat would try to win by sueing the competition out of business instead of improving himself to prepare for the big fight and win.
If Trump's so liberal it would seem he would steal more votes from Obama than he would from a conservative.
I understand what you are saying and you are certainly not alone in that thinking. I do not want to see Trump run 3rd party either. But it would make more sense to prepare for such a situation by choosing an unbeatable candidate. Heck, we just might have a third party candidate and it may not even be Trump. It could be Ron Paul or someone else.
Let's focus on finding a candidate that is conservative and can explain real conservatism to America so that independents and liberals will come to think "Geez! How stupid I was! Conservatism really makes a lot of sense, I AM conservative too!"
He’ll get the independent - we hate everybody - dummy vote. That won’t be enough to win but it will be enough to give Obama a win. His socialist base will stick together.
