Looks like this may be the House version of the "Reid bill" HR 2693

The Senate is at his moment, right now, voting to table the motion to concur in the Hosue amendment to S.627. That is, it is voting to dispose of Boehner 3.

Reid is then going to file a cloture motion to limit debate on his bill. McConnell offered to have the 60 vote "cloture vote" tonight, but Reid rejected that.

“Reid has said it is dead on arrival in the Senate. But how many votes has he passed on the debt crisis? How many plans has Zero proposed? Republicans have the upper hand, I think. Even if there is no chance they’re passed, they, as a body passed two bills and should be shouting this to the American people. If the Senate sends down a watered down crappy bill, shout it again —we’ve already sent you two bills, compromised as much as possible in the second, deal with it. Take it to the American people. If we could get it passed in the Senate, I would love to see Obama veto it. He’d be toast.

Well said sir. At least Republicans are putting stuff forward. It is the Dems that are the party of no.

Does Reid have the necessary votes to get his bill passed?

thats why i never got all the drama over the boehner bill. the whole thing was pointless. it never had any chance so it didn’t really matter whether it passed or not. all this talk of selling out and purity and everything and it never mattered. it was all for show.

-- Where does it say what you said it does? --

Find CRS Summary. The excerpt is the last sentence in that summary.

Or, just read the law itself ... http://www.cq.com/graphics/sal/95/sal95-435.pdf (3 page PDF file, last line)

Or, see what was 31 USC 27, and is now 31 USC 1103.

Sec. 1103. Budget ceiling

Congress reaffirms its commitment that budget outlays of the United States Government for a fiscal year may be not more than the receipts of the Government for that year.

Lots of GOP Senators voting to table the Boehner bill. Overwhelming margin in favor of tabling.

-- it was all for show. --

Congress needs to be swept clean. I don't see that happening.

Many of us said this all along

It was all a game and it was all for show.

Boehner KNEW all along this is how it would end.

American public loses again.

People can continue to believe that their politicians will do the right thing - but it just is not going to happen.

When does it change?

EVERY freaking election I hear people talk about change - this time it will be different - this time we will VOTE THEM OUT.

NOTHING ever changes.

I ask again - how does this end? How do we force change? What has to happen?

Starting to think nothing matters anymore. No matter who we vote for and no matter what we want the politicians will sell us out.

All Reid has to do is keep killing these bills....then watch Obama come in with his super-hero cape on....heads up cause I think that’s exactly what’s going to happen no matter how the Senate or House goes.

This whole thing is BS. Boner just added the BBA to get enough Tea Party votes to get it passed. When this comes back from the Senate, voila, the BBA is gone. But then the TP votes will go away, right? So what? There will be more than enough democrap votes to take their place. ANYONE who voted for this mess should be primaried so that someone that will stand by their convictions can replace them.

BS doesn’t even come close to what has happened.

Reading through the Facebook postings from local media there are an incredible number of people who BELIEVE they will not be getting their social security. The vast majority of them are blaming rich people and the Republicans.

We have lost the PR battle.

Republicans are so stupid.

Not sure. McConnell is, at this instant, offering to vote on Reid's bill without waiting the day and half that precedes taking a cloture vote. Reid says, to an offer to vote now, "this is a filibuster." LOL.

Republicans in the Senate just voted to table the Boehner bill?

The motion to table was agreed to 59-41.

Sorry, but the dweebs and pansies here who keep listing names of reps as if it is accomplishing something is making me puke. Wake up. The only thing that matters right now is convincing the public that the bill we passed did the right thing for the public and winning the message. Right now, Obama and the MSM have the upper hand. That needs to change and Palin, Boehner, Cantor, and many others better get a positive message out...sniping, snarling, pouting and acting frankly like immature ignorant of POLITICS won’t get it done. We keep this up and we’ll lose the 2012 election(s)...plural because winning back the senate is almost as important.

I wonder how much the Iranian war will cost America and the economy. Half a trillion? Perhaps more?

All of these meetings, etc. to try to persuade people to vote for these bills is crap. The whole thing has been orchestrated between Obama and the party (both of them) leaders. The hardest thing for them to do was to figure out how to make it look like they were actually acomplishing something. Unfortunately the Tea Partiers fell for it hook, line and sinker. At least I hope that is the case and not that they were in on the whole charade also, but I think that might actually be the case with some of them. The only real solution I see is to drop the Republicrats totally and start a REAL Conservative Party.
