Democratic aides told Fox News that Boehner's bill is actually the best vehicle for getting a debt-cap bill to the president's desk provided changes are made to it on the Senate side -- Reid could prime the bill for those changes Thursday night.

I've heard Mark Levin speculate in the past hour that what's occurring publicly could be different from what's occurring privately. In other words, a deal is already in the works. This is the first major media site I've read indicating such an arrangement may already exist.

Personally, the “fix” has always been in. They win, we lose.

I’d almost go as far as to say that both Reid and BeohnerIdiot have long been working towards the “fix” behind close doors.

Again, personally, the sooner this country goes bankrupt, the better off we will be. =.=

We, each of us that works owes 92,000 dollars.

Without any increase.

Then add our annual tax obligations.

If they raise the ceiling in any way shape or form, we must revolt.

The vote was delayed because Boehner has only 216 votes. He needs 218. He is calling the holdouts into his office one at a time. They’re trying to convince the holdouts to abstain rather than vote no which lets them stand on principle but pass the bill and get it to the Senate.

Does anyone stop to think how insane this is? The existing bills cannot pass so there is some magic evil back room deal sitting out there waiting to be passed?

"Democrats warned the speaker that he was wasting his time"

Sounds like Mob Rule, Chicago-style politics, and Union motus operandi.

How does the opposite party "threaten" the Majority? Shove cap, tax, and balance up their asses, and to hell with it....let Obama veto his ass off, and then go into 2012 having put the country into default by running up the debt to all-time record highs after Democrats shoved all their payoff-socialist agenda through when they were the Majority.

FIX IS IN, both parties are fixing to hose us by giving 0 a blank check for a few phony cuts, no fixes, no reform.

When congress and the Pres and VP are placed under Medicare and take a 20% pay cut, limit ALL vactions the Pres and congress take on our dime. Oh, by the way, I don’t think we should pay for his and Mooche’s clothes or jewelery either. I might begin to believe that they are serious. I have yet to hear even bonehead use the word REFORM. There are 45+ years of quid pro quo donor palm greasing built into every social program. Until you eliminate them you will not cut the spiraling debt, that and making it so ONLY US Citizens qualify for any program, including education...take that you idiot jerry brown your matching fed $ should be cut off.

UNLESS reform is part of the package, all you are doing is getting HOSED.

Any budget cuts agreed to between Reid and Boehner, or by the proposed 50/50 commission, will be illusory: merely accounting tricks. This is the way Congress has operated for fifty years. The political game being played is whether Obama will need to return cap-in-hand for another installment before the election. This is all sordid same-old, same-old.

The only benefit to the taxpayer that could come of this, would be a balanced budget amendment. It would have the bi-partisan support necessary to achieve 2/3rds majorities in both the House and the Senate. Once ratified, conservatives and liberals would wrestle over whether to cut expenses or raise taxes. With the right leadership, conservatives would win that battle.

The deal would be giving Obama the cash needed until next November, conditional on a BBA passing both Houses.
