I have a 4 part compromise that ought to please everybody equally poorly.
Reduce all government spending from 2010 levels across the board by 1 percent for 10 consecutive years. This will make Republicans happy!
Raise taxes on all those who do not pay federal income taxes to 1percent of income raising it for ten consecutive years until everyone is at least paying taxes at the 10 percent rate. This ought to make the dems happy who want to raise taxes.
Reduce government regulations on private life and business by 10 percent and an additional 1 percent every year for the next ten years.
Raise the Social security eligibility age by 5 years immediately and one additional year every other year until the age of eligibility is 80.
