We need to do a constitutional audit of the federal government. All federal departments, agencies, programs, commissions, etc, that are not explicitly enumerated and authorized by the constitution as valid functions of the federal government need to be abolished and their functions, if truly needed, returned to the states and the people. The federal government needs to get its nose out of the people’s business. Literally! And all remaining constitutionally authorized departments need to be stripped to the bare bone. No pork! No fat!! Cut the taxes appropriately. Get our economy booming and put our people back to work!!

Well said Jim...I have been through dowsizings in the private sector and they live by the accounting equation where as DC runs on new math. I f you or I did what Fedzilla does with a business, we would be wearing Chrome Braclets like Bernie Maddoff.

That's why I support starting with cutting a whole slew of job killing federal agencies first and combine it with making sure things like highway funds go into interstate highways and bridges. The money saved can go toward paying off the social security owed while privatizing it for those entering the workforce.

If so, you live in a different world than I do. I know few people that understand the problems and fewer that are willing to pay the prices. Those that do are 'digging in & stocking up'!
