Unfortunately, the Founding Fathers NEVER imagined that the definition of marriage would ever include same-sex marriage.

Man, this is just about the best paulnut Perry Derangement Syndrome coyote convention so far on FR. A real howl-a-roo, is it a Full Moon night???

What about the whole talking point list? “was a dem”, “Guardisil drug pusher”, “illegal immigrant bootlicker” and “Trans Texas Corridor sneaker”.

We have no idea who the primary winner will be... but it doesn’t matter because precisely zero of them are “pure” enough.

That was a good response. Just understand, our candidate doesn't have to be "perfect." Our candidate has to be "good enough." Based on key issues, neither Romney nor Perry seem "good enough."

If you don’t like how the 14th may be applied then it is imperative to support the GOP candidate nominated. The next 4 years is extremely important as far as the USSC is concerned. The most RINO of GOP nominees is going to choose better than Obama.

You seem to forget that it is a RINO who is MOST RESPONSIBLE for homosexual "marraige."

I will support conservatives, that's it. I will not support some RINO who is happy to destroy our Republic one state at a time.

It is clear that you are fine with same sex "marriage" as long as the person imposing it has an "R" after their name.

And you’ve just detailed the GOP/RNC strategy for the past 12 years: let’s push someone who is a moderate that will appeal to independents and conservative democrats: screw the base! They’ve vote for the R label anyway!

And do away with all school vaccinations to please the Perry bashers. Let polio, typhoid, etc run rampant. People simply do not understand that when a lot of folks live close together, some things may be mandated for their protection own, as well as others.
I still will support Perry, as this is a non issue

I do oppose homosexual marriage but expect our side to use the Constitution consistently.

BTW, my posts should not be taken as my endorsement of Perry. I find much to like in all of our candidates. While Romney and Huntsman are my least preferred, I’m not going to be nasty about them. I have a problem with the constant vitriol spewed on this site towards ALL of our potential nominees. It seem we’ve forgotten Reagan’s 11th Commandment. On this type of a site it’s a shame.

Unfortunately, Perry is not what he plays to be. He is a poser—someone who will say anything to hold onto power.

My thoughts exactly. Easy to see how we lose, isn’t it.

Fair point. I’ve got pretty much the same problems with them too. However: We have to be prepared for the idea that the choice will end up being between “not good enough”... and “totally f_ing unacceptable”.

We can and we should press on the primaries to get our best possible candidate. But after that— I’m going to vote ~against~ Obama nomatter who is running. I get ~really~ disgusted with those that get all snotty and refuse to vote if their “perfect” candidate doesn’t make it. That how we lose.

McCain had a lot wrong with him, but I sure as hell wish he were there instead of B. Hussein Obama.

“I think it will be a non-issue for most.”

So do you think that his anti-border fence and pro-illegal immigration position will be a non-issue as well?

Still a state’s rights issue. Let it be taken up in court. As a Conservative I cannot subjectively apply the 10th only when it suits me.

Neither states nor courts have "rights." People have rights. Governments, or branches of government, or more accurately the officers of those government departments, have lawful jurisdiction, legitimate powers, and sworn duties.

No one has a right, or lawful jurisdiction, or legitimate power, to overturn the laws of nature and of Nature's God.

To claim they do is to overturn the natural law moral basis for our free republic, which was intended to be a nation of laws, not of men.

And to therefore give aid and comfort to the radical Left, who are intent on destroying the work of generations of Americans.

Because, you can take it to the bank, neither God nor nature will budge on these critical matters. Folks who try to ignore that immutable fact will only destroy themselves.

Let polio, typhoid, etc run rampant.

Because they're transmitted the same way as HPV, right?/SARC

People simply do not understand that when a lot of folks live close together, some things may be mandated for their protection own, as well as others.

Because since they live close together, they must be bumpin uglies. /Double SARC

Along with many of my fellow Airmen, I held my nose and voted for McCain due to Sarah Palin. I had to use a provisional ballot because most Armed Forces Michigan voters did not receive their absentee ballots.

What party has a history of supressing military votes...

Also, if you truly believe your tagline you might want to check out this chart about vaccine manufacturing and aborted fetal cells. They use the same process that Pepsi Co. is using to test flavor enhancers: http://www.cogforlife.org/fetalvaccines.htm

“So do you think that his anti-border fence and pro-illegal immigration position will be a non-issue as well?”

Texans have a slightly differing view of immigration than the rest of us - at least they did during the 13 years I lived there before we became overrun with illegals.

He will have an opportunity to make his case for the nomination like everyone else. From there, let the chips fall where they will.

So far, it seems he has the best shot at winning. I welcome him to the fray and I consider him a cut above Obama by far. I would vote for him, since I am not expecting a perfect candidate anyway.

Time will tell.

Well, I'm a mainstream conservative who had Perry penciled in as my number two candidate. This Gardasil story bothers me. The stench of crony capitalism and political business as usual is strong here.

I'm just as bothered by the governor's demagogic demonization of his opponents-- cloaking himself as a pro-life defender while apparently blaming his opponents for future cervical cancer deaths. That's ugly self-serving stuff. Perry comes off here as just another oily pol.

PRO Illegal immigration??

>Perry adds immigration issues to lawmaker session
Perry wants passage of a measure requiring every person arrested to be run through the federal immigration databases as part of the Secure Communities program. He also wants to provide the state Department of Public Safety with the authority to make sure someone is in the U.S. legally before issuing a driver’s license.

>These measures, along with a ban on sanctuary cities, would “provide a clear message that Texas will not turn a blind eye to those breaking our laws,” Perry said in a statement.
“Texas owes it to the brave law enforcement officials, who put their lives on the line every day to protect our families and communities, to give them the discretion they need to adequately do their jobs,” Perry said.
http://www.rickperry.org/media-articles/perry-adds-immigration-issues-lawmakers-agenda-0?amp

>Gov. Perry has made numerous requests of the federal govt. to enforce the border in Texas including handing President Obama a letter in person when he landed in Dallas last year.
(Obama insulted governor Perry when he turned away and Perry had to hand the letter on the illegals issue to presidential adviser Valerie Jarrett. Obama declined to personally accept it.)

>Gov. Perry refuses to meet/greet Obama in May 2011 at El Paso during his Texas tour.
Perry later declared, “If he wanted to meet, I was in Austin.

>Perry signed into law photo ID required before voting.

WHAT have other states done?? (with the exception of AZ Ok and Ga)

What have other candidates stated that they would do?

What has Sarah stated she would do?

What is Backmann’s plan?

What did Reagan do?
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2008/jan/06/rudy-giuliani/yep-reagan-did-the-a-word/
President Ronald Reagan was the first president in history to grant amnesty to illegal aliens. On November 6, 1986, he signed into law the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) of 1986, [PUB L 99-603]. In so doing, he set a precedent whereby the United States would not seek to deport illegal aliens, but to reward their lawbreaking by granting them full citizenship.

NEWSFLASH! None of them are going to do much.
We have to take the best of the lot.

If an "R" sounds and acts like a "D" there's a problem.
