The FBI controls the NICS system used for checking backgrounds on gun purchases. The bad guy was probbly working with the FBI and told to lie on the form. He fills out the form and when the NICS check is done, it comes back “clean” because the FBI was expecting it and manipulated the database.
not too likely - the data base is what it is and if incorrect info is entered, incorrect info results. That is why so many of the systems be it LE, science, census, etc., are error prone.
