this will turn in to another Gingrich shutdown debacle, and are presenting a deal that both sides can claim “VICTORY!” with.

No way is this close to the Gingrich episode.

Obama is getting NO tax hikes. Plus, he has to face another round on this which he was insistent he didn't want to do in an election year LOL.

Boehner is getting what he wanted...cuts equal to the debt ceiling with NO tax hike.

Free money now, cuts over the next 5-10 years. Do you REALLY think they're not going to spend for the next 5-10 years? What about the new, additional spending that will be needed next year? The year after? The next ten years?

Democrats HAVE to offer some type of taxpayer paid free handout every election. They HAVE to, or their base won't bother getting out of bed. No freebies, no votes.
Democrats take money from the working and give it to the nonworking every election. That's what they do. That's ALL they do. No freebies = no democrat party.
They CAN'T stop spending. It's suicide.

I agree with you that overall this is a win.

The problem is cuts are over ten years. I don’t see a breakdown if they’re front-loaded, back- loaded, or even yearly.

But that situation is a problem. I’m not sure it will pass. The only cuts to look at happen in the next two yrs. If that amount is 120 b, 120 b each year - that’s a debt max increase of 1000 B and cuts of 240 B. I think this is a problem. BUT - i would have to take it knowing that we’d re-do it in April.
