Feinstein sees a Senate debt solution (Let's see this "Senate plan" in Legislative writing)

Sen. Dianne Feinstein said a deal to raise the debt ceiling is being held hostage by Republican politics, but that she can envision an agreement in the Senate to prevent default.

The California Democrat said on Sunday there are currently 39 senators who support the so-called “Gang of Six proposal” put forward by three Democrats and three Republicans that would include a combination of spending cuts and revenues to reduce mounting budget deficits and bring Republican support to raise the limit on how much money the government can borrow.

“It’s a big step forward for the Senate,” Feinstein said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “If that could be wrapped into a proposal that would provide the length of time to do it and do it carefully, I think you have an arrangement.”

She said Senate Democrats would probably accept “three parts cuts to one part revenues” in a deficit reduction deal, but would not accept $4 trillion in cuts with no additional revenues.

“We strongly believe that the wealthiest in our society should help with the crisis,” Feinstein told CNN Chief Political Correspondent Candy Crowley. “It should be a fair share plan, not just the people who are poor and dependent on these programs. That’s not unreasonable.”

However, any agreement reached in the Democratic-controlled Senate would have to pass through the Republican-controlled House and vice versa before it reaches the president’s desk.

Rerun, rerun, give us more money and we promise to have deep meaningful talks about cutting spending. The next time we hit the debt limit.

Look, even Feinstein can only “see” 39 Democrat votes. Just not enough to pass anything. There are enough hard-core Stalinist Senators to filibuster everything.

Fienstein, the senator from the failed liberal state of california has a plan. If her plan is so good, I suggest she road test it in her failed state first.

Feinstein is one of the most corrupt and vile liars in the Senate.
This scum used her leadership role to increases her pile of riches via her husband sleazy dealings with the Chinese !

I can only imagine how the Chinese stole our technology and research secrets for decades thanks to Di and her Hubbie ! The FBI should have carried her and her husband off years ago.

They have increased spending by 28% since King Ouchbama’s coronation.

Now she wants some kind of FAIR SHARE plan to reduce the debt?

No need to TAX, just a small reduction in the Ouchbama increase will more than be enough to cover the amount needed.

The Left constantly harps on how GBW’s tax cuts were “temporary” - if that is good for them the say then its equally good to say that Ouchbama’s 28% increases was also “temporary”.

Lets take back the ‘temporary” spending increases to what they were only 3 years ago, it should be a tactic/strategy that Liberals are familiar with.

Just goggle her and “Chinese trade” and it will blow your mind.
The GOP are a bunch of chickens for letting her get away with this scam for decades .

Nope.

Since it's a Democrat plan, "you have to pass it to see what's in it"

I've compared notes others who contacted her and it's evident Feinstein's office is a black hole. There's not even so much as a form letter acknowledgement going back a dozen or more years. At least Boxer's office is happy to say you're being ignored!

Maybe we're in the wrong zip codes. If we were in S.F. or parts of L.A., perhaps we'd be taken seriously.

Well, it seems to me that you liberals have created the poor and dependent Frankenstein. Now, if some of those poor and dependent lazy people got up off their butts and went to the rich that supply the jobs....TAH DAH, NO MORE DEPENDENTS.

I know it’s hard for the kids to grow-up and leave the nest Diane, but give them a pat on the head and a fond farewell and watch them fly.

Gee, Reagan was promised the same thing. Agree to raise the taxes and we’ll make cuts.

Tax rates went up, cuts never materialized.

Pubs never learn.

Get the cuts first then raise taxes years down the line if needed. Not the other way around.

Another one of the elite, uber-rich socialists in the Senate, calling for higher taxes on everyone but those in her stratum who can afford fleets of accountants to eliminate tax liability. Between her and her husband, Dick Blum, and their enormously profitable trade with China, they have “stolen” hundreds of millions from those Americans to whom the money rightfully belonged.

If she and all the other megamillionaires in the country just set aside 10% of their fortunes and distributed them individually on the street to the poor, they would eliminate poverty, without the need for wasteful agencies and middlemen, and could cut back on a great deal of government spending.

That point is just to note the hypocrisy of her position, and that of most liberals. Frankly, those who acquire wealth in the US should be largely left alone, since they pay most of the income tax collected by the gov.

CCB got more votes in the Senate than that.
