I’m just curious.
Did they arrest him on the island when his ammunition ran out? Or did they let the man escape then go to his home to arrest him? I don’t see that in the der Spiegel article.
From what I read the cops “” were afriad to go onto the island due to the possibility of explosives and thus hung around and waited. Because of the cowardice, many more were killed, if this is true.
I haven't seen see anything about that. Basically, the shooting stopped when the police arrived is all I can gather.
Spiegel Online is constantly adding stories and details. I'm not sure if it's been reported in US news or not.
There's a lot there, but here are some things that stand out as I skimmed over the articles.
Eyewitnesses are saying there were shots every 10 seconds for 45 minutes. 30 minutes to 45 minutes seems like the length of the shooting spree. (or so it seemed).
Private boats rescued kids during the shooting.
Suspect bought 6 tons of fertilizer at the beginning of May. Generally a normal amount according to the agricultural supply store.
Spiegel also posted a separate article about the suspects facebook page. Very recent and nothing he wrote himself.
Spiegel even asks the rhetorical question Hat Anders B. genau das beabsichtigt? Wut gegen "die Rechte" zu wecken. ( Did Anders B. intend to do exactly that? Awake anger against the right.)
The last point is why I was curious about the reporting so far. The suspect's speech leads one to believe he has a 'christian fundalmentalist' point of view, but there seem to be real questions about that still.
