How could the rest not escape?

Because it is an ISLAND. Many tried to swim away. Horrible.

Approx two hours difference so time to drive his van to the ferry etc. Still, hard to believe he built the big bombs alone isn’t it ?

P.S. car full of explosives also found on the island.

That would explain some of it.

I am reading a book called “The Gift of Fear”, and it goes into some of the warning signs of a person working themselves up for violence.

What is the EDl?

EDL = English Defense League
English group that oppose the islamization of England. Football fan type people for the most part. Loud, but generally peaceful.

The EDL is the English Defence League. Sort of like a British tea party, but more working class and yes more thuggish. But, the problems in their local communities are also more serious.

Thanks for the info. Sorry I disturbed you earlier asking for a time-line. Any mention of computer activity on bomb making sites? I will go out and look for this one.

I’m stunned.

All I can say is God help their families and communities; God help Norway; God rest their souls.

Remember that this is a very tiny island. It’s not as if the kids could just run away in all directions as they could on the mainland. Swimming away takes much longer than running. It also means that there is no concealment or cover as you flee by water except by going underwater. And even a pistol can shoot farther than most people can breath underwater, let alone a rifle or assault weapon. Finally, if he was wearing a police uniform, then he’s got the element of surprise on top of that. A kid who didn’t see the initial attack but hears the gunshots is very likely to go towards the supposed policeman for protection.

It reminds me of that South Korean mass murder case where a cop went house to house killing many as his uniform gave him an edge of surprise.

His Facebook and Twitter account were only recently set up which could mean that in a piece of grim pre-planning, he created his social media pages knowing that these would be scoured when he perfomed the atrocities and his name became known.

Reports suggest he was also seen loitering around the site of the bomb blast in Oslo TWO HOURS BEFORE before the island incident.

A Twitter account (http://twitter.com/#!/AndersBBreivik) and Facebook page for Andres Behring Breivik were created last week. The Facebook page contains a series of photos of the alleged suspect, and the Twitter account has one post: “One person with a belief is equal to the force of 100 000 who have only interests.”

gunman owned company dealing with geofarming

Google research seems to indicate that 'geofarming' is not a clearly defined concept.

This is just so wrong.

Death toll is climbing.

I know all about the statistics, but this opens all the wounds in my soul, thinking of the parents’ suffering.

Who did it and why is for later discovery. Right now, there are parents who are in pain that none of you who have ever lost a beloved child can even begin to imagine.

Let us pray for the parents, no matter what their political views, and let us not be proud and arrogant. There but for the Grace of God, we might have to go.

Politics doesn’t matter when innocent children have been killed in such a horrible way.

Norway has very few cops per capita. Parking a car bomb ahead of time and letting a timer do the job while you spend a few hours traveling to your next attack site wouldn’t be that difficult or risky. In fact, the car bomb(s) would serve as excellent distractions for the attack on the island as the attention of the nation’s police and emergency responders would be focused on Oslo.
