Kind of interesting to see an old driver license. If I remember right, licenses didn’t have pictures up until th e1970’s in most states. In fact there was a person from TN who had his TN license and it didn’t even have a picture and this was in 1984 !

Mr G has a license with no picture on it. As a senior, it is optional for him.

In Vermont, until the late 90s, you couldn’t even get a photo license unless you went to the main DMV office in Montpelier to get it. Usually only people who needed ID to purchase alcohol bothered to do so.

Now that photo licenses are available at all the DMV offices most folks have them but it is still not required.
