So, what's left? The Krauthammer Plan? Or has Boehner really reached a deal?

I actually like the Krauthammer plan, and wish the house republicans would play that card.

If the democrats won’t solve the whole problem, then let’s feed them small doses, so it keeps coming back.

Instead of raising the ceiling 2.5 trillion, raise it .5 trillion. And enact the 500 billion in immediate spending cuts called for by the “gang of 6”.

We still will have leverage in 5 months, and maybe we can send the message that the debt “ceiling” only has meaning if you can’t just raise it whenever you hit it.

We should force the democrats to vote on raising the debt ceiling it least 3 times before the 2012 election, and each time the fight should be over why we aren’t cutting spending so we stop hitting the debt ceiling.

Boehner needs to bring up a bill today that says interest on the debt, Social Security, Medicare, and military pay and benefits shall be paid in full from current income and if there is any money left over other expenditures shall be funded proportionateley. Pass it today and send it to the Senate this afternoon.

Let the Democrats vote against paying Social Security and Medicare if they dare.

Now the House needs to pass the payment prioritization bill and send it to the Senate so that payments of the tax money we have goes to paying interest and principal on the debt, Social Security and the military. If that passes and is signed by the president (HA!) then we won't default on August 2 no matter what. If it doesn't pass the Senate or is vetoed, then the Dems alone have chosen to default, cut SS and cut the military. Win-win for the Republicans once it passes the House.

The House should delete one word, vote, and submit it again.

The House has done its part with “Cut, Cap, and Balance”, which the majority of the American people want. Reid won’t even bring it up in the Senate because he thinks Boehner will cave in the talks with Obama. Boehner needs to walk away from the talks and tell Obama and Dingy Harry it’s their turn. They have done nothing and don’t want a balanced budget. When will Boehner realize you can’t deal with Democrats? They will stab you in the back every time.

Hope and PRAY the GOP hangs tough.

No increase in the debt limit to cover additional liabilities, no tax increases, cut and cap!!!!

NOW the GOP has to GET OUT THERE and LET THE AVERAGE Schlemiel in the street know WHY they did this.

They need pictures. Considering the I.Q. of the average voter, they might have to use crayons for the pictures.

Giving Democrats tax dollars is like giving cocaine to an addict.

Mitch McConnell & John Boehner should inform POTUS Obama today that the defeat of CCB in the Senate this morning, places total responsibility for the debt ceiling remedy squarely in the hands of both the POTUS and the Democrat Senators!!! Pubbies, do not give them an inch!!! Not one!!! Unless it is on “our” terms!!!

“strictly partisan 51-46 vote”

Suggestion to the House Republicans:

- Let things get “a little hotter”.

- Rewrite the “CCB” bill. Change it from “Cut, Cap, Balance” to simply “Cut & Cap”. Get rid of the “Balanced Budget Amendment”. That simply isn’t going to fly, budget crisis or not. No way, no how. The core of conservatism is “realism”, so let’s be realists, ok?

- Revote on “CC” in the House and send it to the Senate and force a vote there.

- Without a “forced commitment” to the amendment, and under increasing pressure, that might just get the two votes needed to win.

Just guessin’.....

The debt limit is the law.

The republicans offered an alternative and the democrats rejected it.

The republicans don’t need to do anything more.

The Senate Democrats did not just "reject" CCB, they voted to table it: to not amend it, to not debate it, to not even consider it.

Note that the Senate Democrats have now voted down all three budget proposals that have been put on the table:

1 - Paul Ryan budget plan

2 - Barack Obama budget joke

3 - Cut, Cap and Balance

Strict Party line vote - tells me the House is holding the line - marginal Senate Democrats have enough cover to vote no.

Effing thieves.

Shut it down.

If they won't do that... chain the doors shut and burn the place down around their ears as a lesson to future legislators.
