Well this is it folks.. It has been a fun ride.

It is a shame that I didn't get to see those birds launch in person. Oh well should have moved to Florida.

Interesting was what looked like an old fashion hourglass at Mission Control.

They were just saying the space station’s “cupola” has a viewing of Atlantis, that is they can see its approach.

Yes, I heard that too - the plasma trail of the shuttle was visible. Checking the tracking of the ISS, the ISS is presently above and perhaps a little “behind” the shuttle - won’t be behind much longer.

Obama’s give away of the ISS is equalivent to Carter’s give away of the panama canal. JFK would have never shut down the Shuttle, forcing us to hitch a ride with Russia for $65 Million bucks a trip.

Anyone else remember those in cabin shots of the plasma from the shuttle? Pity they cancelled those after Columbia.

Yes I remember those shots, I would say they do not want a repeat of the last disaster to be shown or leaked online should it happen again.

Time for those sonic booms over Naples.

8 minutes to go and staying up late to see the end of tremendous effort and visionary project. When will the next challange come?

Godspeed Atlantis!

The next challenge? I hope its a space elevator. Google it, its been written by many authors and sci-fi stories.

Technologically its “almost” possible.

LOL—shuttle astronaut thought he was seeing Yucatan Peninsula. Mission control [laughing] said it was the west coast of Florida.
