Well this is it folks.. It has been a fun ride.
It is a shame that I didn't get to see those birds launch in person. Oh well should have moved to Florida.

The future doesnt belong to the fainthearted; it belongs to the brave. WTF? Not to diss the Magnus, but the future is something that is reached by everybody at the rate of 60 seconds a minute no matter what they do or where they are.
That is true, but It is the brave who determine what the future will bring.

Fortune favors the bold.
Unfortunately the socialistic new empire from Obama will make boldness a crime, all must suffer equally.

"The US manned space program ends in a little more than 2 hours. May our ancestors and our descendants forgive us." This on July 21,2011 - the 42nd anniversary of the Apollo 11's Neil Armstrong becoming the 1st man to walk on the surface of the moon (on July 21, 1969).
DISGRACEFUL!

You’re probably right. If you recall he scheduled a rare press conference for nearly the same time as the launch of Atlantis.

It’s the end of an era, and very sad indeed.
But now, NASA can return to it’s true mission of helping Muslims feel better about their scientific achievements. /s

Too bad we couldn't sell him on golfing on the moon.

I bet his satellite dish ears would twitch at the suggestion that the vacuum of space would improve his handicap score.

There's been a few posts lately about Black Holes but they've been over reaching in their scope. The most recent and most threatening lies much closer at latitude 38°53′42.4″N Longitude: 77°02′12.0″W.
Farewell Apollo, we hardly knew ye.

THANK-YOU in shoutout for the memories of the space shutle program first of all. THANK-YOU to all who went up in those same shutles. THANK-YOU to the 14 who gave their lives during the 30 period. THANK-YOU NASA for a job well done!

I was wondering what the heck fell, and which dog knocked it over! Took me a bit to figure out what it was.

One tiny sweet (and predictable) consolation was the last minute shuttle Endeavor launch delay April 29 as Obama was flying in with his brood to watch it. That absolutely made my day. I actually hollered with joy!

As a matter of fact, it will be the private companies that will play a BIG ROLE in us getting back into space.

No immediate replacement for the space shuttle. :(
If you would have asked me back during Reagan's days, where would we be with our US space program in 2011. My reply would have been enthusiast, with mentioning of a moon colony and dedicated space ships. But hey we have Facebook (bleh.)
