Yo Tom, Obama's run up more debt in 2 years than Bush ran up in 6 years...and when Pelosi and Reid controlled the House and Senate for 2 years under Bush, did we suddenly have balanced budgets??? Obama's slated to double the debt run up by every president from Washington to W. Bush in just 2 1/2 more years and you have the gall to bring up Bush??? This guy is allowed to get away with this crap?? And someone needs to inform him that raising the debt limit has nothing to do with past spending but on the massive new spending Obama and the Dems want to do in the future. This man is either too ignorant or too dishonest to serve in elective office.

I contacted Sen Harkin and corrected him on a couple of points. I am sure he won’t make the same mistakes again.
according to ‘treasurydirect.gov’, 4.5 trillion that the R’s racked up from 1994 thru 2006 is equaled to the amount that the D’s racked up in 1/3 the time, from 2006-2010.
Also told him that I was thrilled that he wants to raise the debt ceiling ‘not for future borrowing’ but to pay current debts. He and I agree on this - no more borrowing for the future, just pay the debt. I also informed him that we make a lot more every month than the debt costs, so we don’t really need to worry about default.
Knowledge is power, and I am sure he will do fine with correct info...
They have nothing to go on and think they can get away with these lies to the public without their media machine to bring those things known as FACTS up. I look forward to Palin bringing it up though. They will not silence that.
